Membership into the Society of University Surgeons is given to persons of well established professional position and demonstrated scholarly or creative ability that positively impacts their field.
Applicants must be 50 years of age or younger at the time of induction into the Society.
Interested persons are encouraged to review the SUS Membership Criteria Guidelines and the SUS Constitution for additional details relating to membership eligibility. DEADLINE

Membership Applications to the SUS may be submitted starting June 1, 2018. Completed applications must be submitted via the online submission site prior to the end of the application cycle: Friday, August 17,2018 at midnight EST. Applications and supporting documents will not be accepted after the cycle closes. Successful applicants will be reviewed by the SUS Membership Committee, and recommended candidates will be presented for approval at the SUS annual meeting, held during the 2019 Academic Surgical Congress.

With the exception of the letters of recommendation, all files must be uploaded to the online submission site by the applicant in PDF format (REQUIRED). Please remember to include your name and the title of each document when naming files to be uploaded (ex: John Smith - SUS Member Sponsor Letter).
The applicant must have authored at least 15 peer-reviewed publications since their first faculty appointment. Of these, the applicant must be first or senior author on at least ten. The applicant must provide the five most important publications since their first faculty appointment as well as the year of their first faculty position. A lower minimum number of peer-reviewed publications will be considered by the SUS Membership Committee if published in high impact factor journals.
